Dear Friends:
Diamond Mountain’s Board of Trustees is so grateful to all who have provided support through out the year.
We have reliably received the donations necessary to meet all of our financial obligations and we have continued to benefit from the services provided by all that come to study here. Our year-end financial reports are available for your consideration. One use of this information is to sum all the expenses necessary for the day-to-day existence of Diamond Mountain, excluding expenses for development, and divide that by 365 days per year. We find that Diamond Mountain relies upon $325 per day to be able to serve all that come here. The Dollar a Day Program raised $78,269.27 in 2007 which was used entirely to continue paying off the purchase of the property. We were fortunate to have another Village Foundership donation of $25000 come in, which allowed us to maintain our monthly payments totaling $86,796 for the year. We are still on track to reach our goal of having the land completely paid for by April 2010.
As you know, Diamond Mountain’s primary fund raising activity, after the Dollar a Day Program, is to give money away. We identify organizations who are actively engaged in charitable services that we would like to cultivate and we donate money to them. In 2007 we donated a total of $13,725 to organizations such as the Bowie Community Center, Bowie’s Volunteer Fire Department, Land of Medicine Buddha, Wings of Angels, other retreat centers and many others. For 2007 our fund raising focus is 2-fold. First we need to raise the main body of construction funds for a modest Student Union; a place for students to rest, relax and study, a necessity in the harshness of our rural desert mountains. Second, we need focus funding for the development of the Deep Retreat Sector in preparation for the 2010 launch of the next three year retreat cycle. We rely on everyone’s participation to bring these 2 projects to fruition. May everyone have the goodness to see Diamond Mountain flourish.

Sincerely,
Susan P. Stumpf
Treasurer, Diamond Mountain Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees of Diamond Mountain understands that the karmic cause of DM’s own financial security is to contribute to the financial needs of other organizations that serve the world. Over the years, we have contributed approximately $12,000 per year to a variety of such organizations. They are listed below, along with the groups that will receive funds throughout the remainder of 2007. We invite you to suggest charitable organizations for consideration for future DM donations. Keep in mind karmic correlations when you are making your suggestions. You may submit your suggestions to Susan Stumpf, susanceleste@vtc.net.
